    SUPPORT TO MICROBOARDS

A microboard is a small non-profit organization incorporated to serve on individual.  Microboards frequently contract with Community Living BC to secure funding for services.  A number of microboards have chosen to sub-contract their service delivery to the Association.  In some cases the microboard sub-contracts for administrative and back office supports and in other cases, the Association arranges and delivers a comprehensive service.  The Association welcomes this partnership with microboards.

    INDIVIDUALIZED FAMILY SERVICES

There are occasions when the needs of individuals and families are not met within the structure of existing programs and services.  The Association welcomes the opportunity to assist individuals and families to design services tailored to their unique needs.  The Association has supported a number of individuals and families to design and deliver specialized services that are truly family centered.

    PERSON-CENTERED PLANNING SUPPORTS

The Association has a number of personnel trained to offer person-centered planning supports to individuals and their families.  Individuals and families are able to choose from a variety of planning tools (PATH, Essential Lifestyle Planning, MAPS, etc.) to ensure the development of a comprehensive plan.  Receipt of planning supports does not require that the individual or the family choose the Association as the provider of their service.

    TRAINING

The Association organizes regular and specialized training opportunities for employees and those individuals in community that are interested in attending.  Please refer to the training calendar for upcoming events that may be of interest.

    SPECIALIZED CONSULTATION

The Association has a number of personnel with extensive education and training that are available for specialized training and consultation.  In the past this consultation has included organizational development and review, interim management solutions, strategic planning and policy governance design, community development as well as consultation related to the development of policy and procedure and Accreditation.  The Association is also able to offer specialized training in a number of key community living topics.  Please contact the Executive Director to discuss your specific needs.
