The Association provides respite care services for individuals of all ages. The goal of respite services is to provide additional support, rest and renewal to the parents/primary caregivers while Langley Association for Community Living (LACL) ensures a safe, enjoyable and meaningful experience for the child or adult. Respite can be provided in the home of a care provider or in the child/adult's own home. When requested by parents, respite caregivers for children may access community services and events during respite visits. Respite providers are carefully screened, trained and supported to ensure the comfort and safety of the person receiving the service.
LACL is also able to make Bridge House, a fully equipped and wheelchair accessible home in Langley, available for those individuals and families who require out of home respite but have been unsuccessful in finding a suitable caregiver within their own home. Individuals and families generally provide their own caregivers and Bridge House is made available at no cost. |
